HaleSpace is the home of the Michael Hale Gallery.
Michael Hale, a returning Northwest native, has lived in Port Townsend since 2000. He has shown at the Roby King Gallery and the Harbor Public House in Winslow on Bainbridge Island, and at Earthen Works and The Bishop Victorian Hotel in Port Townsend. Winner of the 2003 Wooden Boat Festival poster contest, Hale has spent the last two years painting P.T. buildings and street scenes for both last summer’s Bishop Show, which nearly sold out, and again for this years show at the Bishop, September 1 through October 31.
“It’s the most inspiring city I’ve ever lived in,” said Hale. “And I’ve lived in quite a few cities in my forty-plus years of painting.”
Recently married to his Australian sweetheart Mazzie, Hale plans on spending time painting in Australia as well as maintaining his studio here.
